Against the backdrop of increasingly stringent environmental regulations, reducing organic solvent emissions during enameled wire production has drawn growing attention. Traditional oil-based insulating varnish coating processes require large quantities of organic solvents, releasing VOCs gases such as cresol and xylene during the baking and curing stage. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the research and application of water-based insulating varnishes and high-solid low-VOC coating materials.
It is understood that a new generation of water-based polyester-imide insulating varnish has been successfully applied in the batch production of certain special enameled wires, reducing VOCs emissions by more than 60% while maintaining thermal class and electrical performance. At the same time, tail gas purification systems combining catalytic combustion and solvent recovery treatment processes have been deployed in a centralized or distributed manner across multiple industrial clusters, effectively reducing regional air pollutant emission intensity.
Industry environmental experts state that the green transformation of the enameled wire industry is reflected not only in end-of-pipe treatment but also extends to source substitution and process control. In the future, low-toxicity, water-based, and high-solid formulations will become the three major directions for insulating varnish material development, driving the enameled wire industry toward a better balance between environmental compliance and economic benefits.
